Coming from the wild and sweaty realms of the Viennese underground scene to become a star in Japan, the artist turned professional wrestler Thekla the 'Toxic Spider' seems to be doing it all. Now she is presenting her first solo exhibition in Tokyo, showing self-designed wrestling gowns, snippets from the 2020 documentary 'Das Leben ist schön‘ and a set of new works depicting the highs and lows of a life in the ring.
ワイルドで汗にまみれたウィーンのアンダーグラウンドシーンから飛び出した一人のアーティストは”毒蜘蛛”テクラとして今や日本プロレス界のスターとなった。
ついに彼女は東京で自身初となる個展を開催し、自らデザインしたレスリングガウン、2020年のドキュメンタリー『Das Leben ist schön』の一部に加え、リングで生きる彼女の人生の悲喜交交を描き出した新作も公開した。

躍動する筋肉、浮き上がる血管。肉体は空中でぶつかり合い、
その瞬間に何千回と響き渡るシャッター音と目も眩むようなフラッシュの閃光。
全てを捧げ、全てを失い、ジムに垂らした涙は後にして私たちはこの喧嘩道を歩んで行く。
次に待ち受けるアドレナリン・ラッシュを目指して。
戦士として生きるのは辛く、痛く、奇妙なもの。
しかしそれ以上に楽しく、そして何よりも語られるべき「物語」を提供してくれる。
